An intensive search for farmers and cooperatives to collaborate with all over Colombia started this year in July.

Our first steps led to the department of Tolima, specifically to a village called Planadas. It was not a random choice, as we’d already had a very good experience with coffee from this region. It is popular mainly for its sweetness, chocolate and caramel flavors, and balanced acidity. If you prefer less conservative coffee, you can go for the one from a nearby village called Bilbao. Due to its higher altitude, Bilbao produces coffee with higher acidity and more fruity flavor tones.

During a meeting with Emanuel and Edilson from a cooperative CMS Planadas, we had an opportunity to visit part of their facilities and cup samples of coffees from both Planadas and Bilbao. We hope to provide you with the possibility to try them soon as well.
